The "Near Perfect" King

Leading the Miami Heat on a seven game win streak, LeBron James is playing the best basketball of his life in this month of February. James has received an abundance of recognition for becoming the first NBA player to record six straight 30 point games while shooting a remarkable 60% or better from the field. The record is amazing and it speaks volume for the way James has been scoring for his Miami Heat team. It is the way that Lebron is scoring the ball that is most surprising to the sports world. James has made 66 of 92 shots (71.7%) from the field over this historic six-game streak. Near the rim, James made 36 of 40 shots (90%) which is extremely remarkable if you take into consideration the amount of contact he absorbs when he goes to the rim.

Throughout his career, James has always been told he should drive the basketball to the rim at every chance he gets and with his recent scoring streak it is clear to understand why he was told that. The six-game streak of having 30 points and shooting at least 60% from the field ended Thursday night when the Miami Heat beat the Oklahoma City Thunder in a finals rematch of last year. LeBron finished the game with 39 points, 12 rebounds and seven assists while shooting 14 of 24(58.8%) from the field.

With his recent play, LeBron James is demonstrating what happens when an extraordinary basketball star maximizes his talents and impact on the NBA. It is amazing to see LeBron turn his former haters into devoted fans but his level of play deserves all the credit he is receiving.
